Penelope Giammarco
Junior Tennis Instructor | Perrysburg, Ohio

Hi! I’m Penelope, and I love teaching tennis to younger players.

I’ve been playing since I was 4 years old, and now I compete as a two-time OHSAA State Qualifier (2023 in singles, 2024 in doubles) and the #1 singles player at Perrysburg High School. Tennis has been such a big part of my life, and now I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with juniors who are just starting their journey.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to win USTA and UTR tournaments, but what I enjoy most is the challenge, strategy, and fun that comes with this sport. I want to help younger players not just learn to hit the ball, but to understand the game, build confidence, and have fun doing it.

What I Focus On

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every player is different, so I make sure my lessons match where they are and where they want to go – whether that’s learning how to rally or getting ready for their first high school tryout.

In my lessons, we work on:

  • Footwork & Movement
  • Rallying & Court Awareness
  • Match Strategy & Point Construction
  • Technique Progressions
  • Confidence-Building & Tennis IQ

To keep things fun and effective, I also use tennis-specific tools like the TopSpin Pro, Gravity Belt, and Travel AirZone rope to help younger players learn faster and more naturally.

More Than Just a Coach

Along with teaching tennis, I referee youth basketball at the YMCA and serve as the president of my local 4-H club. I love working with kids and aim to be not just an instructor, but someone they can look up to and trust.

I keep lessons high-energy, fun, and positive, while making sure players leave the court better than they came. I am CPR and First Aid certified and plan to be SafeSport certified soon.
